The Critter Gitter is always gassed and ready for action. Some days
you may see it laden with dog and cat food kindly supplied by a
local department store or on its way with several buckets of food to
be delivered to foster homes, a kind neighbor feeding abandoned
cats, or simply someone who needs a helping hand.
On another day you may see the Gitter rambling down Main Street with
one or half a dozen dogs peering out the windows to be delivered to
foster homes or leaving for a trip out of town to connect with a
rescue group or new home in another community or state.
In the winter the Gitter may have hay on its way to warm a doghouse.
Or, it may have the doghouse too.
If the driver is Carmen she will have her camera dangling about her
neck and you can guarantee she’ll be on her way to a photo op with
the newest Best Friends orphan.
While this Critter Gitter is functional and in good shape, the
opening of the shelter will mean the need for a second vehicle that
can focus its efforts on the shelter and the needs of the animals in
shelter. If you have a good condition vehicle that you are no
longer using, please consider donating it to Best Friends of Baker.
We are a 501(c)(3) and all donations are tax deductible, but please
