Best Friends of Baker, Inc is a non-profit 501(c)(3)
volunteer organization that serves all of Baker County Oregon,
located in the northeastern part of the state. All donations
made to Best Friends of Baker, Inc. are tax deductible. We also
network with other animal rescue organizations in and out of the

We advocate for the needs of domestic pets, particularly
dogs and cats. We promote respect, dignity, humane treatment and
responsible population control through education, spaying and
neutering, medical needs, shelter, foster care, and thoughtful
placement and adoption of all the animals. Our advocacy is greatly
enhanced by the presence of members within in and outside of our
community. Interested in becoming a supportive or active
member?
We serve Baker County, Oregon with the following resources

Foster homes for pets
● Adoption services for pets
● Animal advocates
● Resource for any pet question
The entire community benefits from working with Best
Friends of Baker, Inc. Some of our partners include: the local
domestic violence shelter to find temporary shelter when victims of
domestic violence must seek safety; local law enforcement for
temporary placement of pets whose humans are hospitalized or jailed;
rescue of animals who end up in shelter because of abandonment,
abuse, death of an owner, or other circumstances; and out-of-county
shelters needing pet placement or looking for pets.
We have raised enough money to begin the process of identifying a
shelter location and opening a shelter. However, we still have a
substantial amount of money left to raise for purchase and operation,
and your tax deductible
donations are appreciated.
Visiting Hours Please understand that we are not yet a shelter, so we
do not have regular visiting hours. All of our animals live in
volunteer foster homes or with their owners. If you are interested in
meeting a particular animal, please see our
adoption policy and contact us for additional information.
